Role of the Treasurer
The Johnson County Treasurer’s Office is responsible for fiscal management of the County. Some of the primary responsibilities include collecting property taxes, motor vehicle registration fees, sales tax, and other revenues from state, federal, and local sources. The Treasurer is also responsible for investing the County’s funds, accounting for all County revenue, and distributing funds to various taxing entities according to imposed mill levies.
